Which Show Am I In?
Most of the students will perform in BOTH shows on Sunday 30th November - 10am and 3pm.
ALL Tini classes will ONLY perform in the 1st Half of the show/s they are in. They can be picked up at Intermission. If you want to purchase a seat for them you can so they can watch second half - this is up to you but we do love it if you choose to stay to watch the rest and support the other students. Its very hard for students to perform to a half empty theatre if people do go home. Children under 2 are free without a seat so its up to you if you think your little one is best with a seat or not. After intermission in the past the staff have usually let Tini performers watch on parents lap but if they are bigger or wont sit on your lap (as we don't want to block the view or annoy others) then purchase a seat - we leave this to your discretion.
10 am show only:
- Tini Stars Stage 1 (Monday 10am and Wednesday 9.15am morning classes)
- Tini Stars Stage 2 (Monday and Tuesday morning classes)
3pm show only:
- Tini Stars Stage 1 (Tuesday 10.15am and Saturday 8am classes)
- Tini Stars Stage 2 (Saturday 8.30am class)
ALL other classes perform in both the 10am and 3pm shows.

DRESS REHEARSAL
DATE/TIME: Sunday 9th November 2014, 9am- 2pm WHAT TO WEAR?: All students will be required to come with hair and makeup done, stockings, shoes etc and dressed in first outfit. Photos will be taken so it is very important that this is treated the same as the actual concert! Children - may be a good idea to have a dressing gown to wear backstage over costume so it doesn't get dirty. WHAT TO BRING: Please bring only bottle water - NO CANS OR ANY OTHER DRINKS. No messy snacks! (Can ruin costumes) Something to occupy the young ones while waiting could be good such as a game, book, colouring in (pencils only!), etc. Please make sure they have been to toilet before they arrive at venue. A dressing gown to cover costume if wanting to eat!!! ONLY HELPERS BACKSTAGE: No parents will be allowed to stay unless they have there name down to be a backstage helper. Please DROP OFF AND PICK UP ONLY at times below! Do not ask if you can come for part of your rehearsal as we need you there for the WHOLE time! NO PARENTS/STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE AUDIENCE. |
Makeup Requirements
All female students are required to wear makeup for the recital: red lipstick, blush, brown eye shadow and mascara. For older ones, darker is usually better and eyeliner really helps make the eyes stand out.
For little ones a natural look is good – however makeup is very important as they will look washed out with no makeup on! I would recommend foundation and powder for all ages but this is up to you. The lighting is very strong and features tend to blend a little especially on video/photography when makeup is too light. For the boys, a little blush or bronzer works well to give them colour on stage. |
Vocal Recordings (for all classes with a singing element)
RECORDING STUDIO: WITZEND RECORDING STUDIO - U1, 4 Milson Place, O'Connor (first unit on your left as you turn into Milson Place)
Each year we book in time to get some of the vocal performances recorded to make students sound extra good on the night, but also to give the students valuable time in a recording studio at a great price. It is important that everyone comes so that your voice is heard with the rest! The recording will be used on the night of the concert and each student will get to keep a copy. If you cannot make it please email us asap though we regret we are unable to move the whole class recording. As you can imagine there are lots of classes to organise and fit in around classes and teacher commitments too! Costs for recordings are as follows and each student will receive a copy of all their recordings to keep! Per student: One recording session - $15, Two recording sessions - $25 Add $5 for each extra class you need to record for if you are in more than three singing classes. Parents are asked to drop off and pick up as it will not be possible to watch the recording time as there is not much room and the sound engineer needs to concentrate to make sure everyone sounds their best. We will try to keep things running on schedule but please allow for delays. Also if you are waiting outside - please wait in car as there are other businesses around so it is very disturbing for parents/students to be talking outside when they are trying to work. Thanks :) |
Program & Class Photos
Each year at concert we have a gorgeous program which includes photos taken throughout the year, in class, during dress rehearsal and also includes the running order of the show and other information.
Class Photos for the program will be taken during Week 3 from Monday 27th October - Saturday 1st November - please wear MSJ uniform or neat appearance during that week so you look nice in your class photos. Programs usually go on sale a few days before the concert and are a lovely keepsake. We also encourage students to ask teachers/friends to sign there book or write a comment! |
Hair and Styling Information For Concert and Dress Rehearsal
As we sort it, we will add information on what shoes, tights, hair and any special things you require to style yourself for the show! Please download your class information as it is added. Print out and keep with your costume or in a book so your dressers can help you on the day!
