Musical Theatre training involves the study of 3 areas: VOICE, ACTING, DANCE
Musical Theatre: Jnr or IntMusical Theatre for our juniors or intermediates is a 2 part program. Students can not take the Musical Theatre class alone, they must choose a minimum of one extra class to support their theatrical development in this style. We recommend taking a dance class (eg jazz or tap) or singing class but any style is acceptable.
Musical Theatre classes cover all Broadway and West End musical genres from 1920's to current musicals. Students incorporate both song & dance in their routines and also enjoy element of drama and acting. This is the class where all the skills being learnt in their technique classes comes through in the performance aspect. |
Production: Musical Theatre - Jnr/IntMusical Theatre: Production This innovative and exclusive program will take our students training and extend them much further; putting all these amazing skills into practice! The program is a 4 class commitment, students train in jazz technique, vocal technique and take a double Musical Theatre class.
As Perth's leading performing arts studios in Musical Theatre, we want to keep offering opportunities for our students to get up on stage and do what they love. All rehearsals will take place during class time and therefore no extra days will be needed. The whole class will be involved in the musical, with casting for the show happening in class, where we can explain more and go into the audition process with our students. Students in the class will be encouraged to try for lead or minor roles, but we understand that some of the newer students may not want to try this yet and we will just keep encouraging them until they are ready to give this a go. With a great mix of talent in the class we are sure that we can put on some fantastic productions for family and friends to enjoy. |

So i finally have time to sit down! Michelle, Travis, Gabby I thank you all for the opportunities you give the children. Last night Andrew and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Modern Millie. I was surprised about Andrew as I thought he would be bored stiff! All of the performers were amazing and it is such a pleasure to see how much they have grown in confidence, singing, dancing and acting skills. We are very lucky to have such talented and entertaining kids. Well done to all involved! Thanks also to the parents who helped behind the scenes. You know who you are!

When our children grow up and venture on to new life experiences, our hearts stay at that special place that was such a huge part of our lives. Our 10+ years at MSJ were amazing and played a huge part into shaping Jasmine into the strong, confident young lady that she is, I have no doubt about that. So thank you Michelle for all the laughs and fun and adventures we had together, but most of all, thank you for the safe, caring, nurturing, wonderful place that you have created at MSJ
